What would you pay to be healthy? What are you paying now in medications and are these meds giving you optimal health? Many people who try the paleo or similar ways of eating experience weight loss and an increase in energy and also tend to loose the painful inflammation in their joints and throughout their bodies. Do you know what else many experience? RAGE Righteous indignation because no-one told them how to eat the heathiest way and in fact they have been told just the opposite all their life and are still to this very day being told false and ineffective information by the health authorities. i.e. "coconut oil is bad for you" This by the same folks who said margarine is "heart healthy". I just finished reading Nora Gedgaudas book "Primal Fat Burner"
Awesome book with lots of references. I saw her talk on line at the Paleo fx event and had to get her book. Of course she has recipes and a 21 day plan to become a fat burning beast, but one of the things I gleaned from it was the importance of eating 100% grass fed pastured meats. She talks about how the fat changes in meat in as little as 7 days when finished with grains. She has many web sites listed for primal support. She also lists an organization that is working hard to re-establish balanced farming practices. What amazes me is the simplicity of primal/paleo/ancestral eating. It is the most natural thing to do. Just eat pastured meats and lots of green veggies, drink tons of water, be in bed for at least 7 hours daily, and enjoy the gift of life. Now what is strange is that what we eat is vitally important to our health and can kill us or heal us. Which would you choose? Well duh, but it is amazing that we often don't pay attention to what we put in our mouths and often don't care. The fiction is the dietary guidelines we are given, "heart healthy whole grains" and low fat. This is absolutely fiction. If it worked we would be thriving and fit and couldn't be held back. But this "new" myth is being reinforced daily by the people in authority who we trust. I call it new because it started to be preached in the 1960s and is constantly repeated today. Another faulty fact is universal inclusion of sugar in almost all of our foods. When we eat low fat this often translates to high sugar consumption. It is important to believe what Hippocrates, the father of medicine told us, Let thy food be thy medicine. It is vital to our health to eat on purpose. The strange but common thing to see is people eating nothing but sugury treats, cola, candy bars, high carbohydrate low nutrient white flour buns etc.. What I would suggest is that if a person wants optimal health (and really who doesn't?) that person could start by observing what they are eating and start eliminating the sugar, then adding healthy fats, meats, and more greens. Once that person is free of the sugar/carbohydrate addiction their body starts functioning in a most amazing and efficient manner. They start burning fat as fuel and not sugars. They can eat WHEN, when hunger ensues naturally. They can eat as much as they want whenever they want and still function optimally. The key to this is that they eat primally, real food, not poison. Their hormones are doing the jobs they were created to do, get us in homeostasis and keep us there. IN the books "The Chronicles of Narnia" the white witch offered Edmund (I think) a most delightful, addicting, and tasteful treat called turkish delight. It was an addicting poison. Well folks, we are being constantly encouraged to eat this poisonous and addicting food. I remember as a youth in the 60s we would, of course, get high and then get the munchies and go into a supermarket and everything seemed so unreal. Well now I go into the supermarket and it seems unbelievable whats on the shelves, turkish delight. Let's take back our health It's our decision, it's our bodies Need help?
