So, I started my health and fitness journey three years ago and am elated to be continuing on this path with many a tweak and experiment here and there.
Of course our bodies are super intelligent and engineered for survival and nobody ccan know your body and life like you can. Having said that, we do have much in common with each other and for that matter other mammals. The biggest change that I initially made was to cut out all grains, which was actually easy for me because I was motivated to get in shape. Again, initially I just cut the grains, didn't really know what I was doing,(after all, grains are supposed to be a staple in our diets, right?) So, as the results of losing 45 pounds in approximately 3months, I started studying ancestral ways of eating and running (with many a cramp and going very slowly, still go slow btw). I now understand that our current prescribed diet of high carbohydrates and high sugar is a death sentence and has been misguided. The high animal fats and minimal carbs and moderate protien of our ancestors diet truly served to pave the way for our healthy survival. Today we have unprecedented disease, cancer, alzhiemers, (which is being now referred to as type 3 diabetes) diabetes, etc.. And yet most of us have been following the high grain/low fat paradigm, so whats the problem? Well, obviously that paradigm is flawed and doesn't work. So to get started why not try to remove some or all your grains, for a day, or two, or week! Just experiment to se how you feel, but of course limit your sugars also. Just eat real food like asparagus, broccoli, grass fed beef and fatty fish, for example. There is plenty of great paleo/ancestral food available. But it's up to you to take back your health, and it's easier than you might imagine. you can call me at 402-525-5828 and I can share with you my story, listen to yours, and see where we go from there!
